Cozy ambiance pairs well with the warm service and delicious food. I had a great meal tonight.Mozzarella sticks with caviar-Unnecessary? Yes? Tasty also yes. Very flavorful and crunchy coating makes way for delicious mozzarella cheese with plenty of pull. The caviar add a nice fresh ocean flavor that works well the the saltines of the dish. Worth the for three small sucks /Octopus with crispy riceAnother winner. Perfectly cooked tentacles with great textures. The outer parts of the tentacles with crunchy and charm with the thicker parts were very tender and lightly cooked. Great flavor and great textures /Christmas style branzinoBranzino was perfectly cooked. A nice crunchy skin and super tender meat. The Christmas style was the red salsa verde and the green pesto alla trapanese on each side. Kind of served as two separate dipping sauces for the fish. / scoop of icecreamCompletely unnecessary but very tasty. Creamy and delicious vanilla bean icecream topped with year old balsamic vinegar and a gram of white truffles. Flavor city. If you have some money burn I suggest getting this. As good as it was I can't rate something this pretensions.

In a high traffic tourist area like Newbury street one could be forgiven for being skeptical of finding a quality meal. Faccia a Faccia is not only an incredible dining experience, it elevates the food scene of the entire neighborhood.A modern dining room that is centered around an almost room length bar, Faccia a Faccia serves up a mix of small sharable dishes and individual sized Italian entrees. As the name would suggest, the Faccia or "Grandma Bread" as they call it, is a must try dish. Perfectly baked with a flavorful pesto sauce on top it is a great introduction to the menu.Off the small plates menu I tried the lamb ribs followed by the Paccheri Bolognese pasta as an entre. The ribs had an amazing caramelized crust without losing any of the tenderness. In a similar sense, the Bolognese was flavorful without being heavy.Faccia a Faccia is a great option for a refreshing Italian meal and a highlight of an increasingly impressive Newbury dining scene.

I had pretty high hopes for Faccia a Faccia. While the service was excellent — they went out of their way to accommodate our table’s allergies and specific food needs — the food itself was underwhelming. It’s disappointing, especially since the space has such a beautiful ambiance. The appetizers were the better part of the meal, but even they fell short. The fried artichoke tasted more like generic crispy veggies than anything special. The burrata came with greens on top, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu and honestly detracted from the flavor. The octopus was good, but the portion was tiny for the price. As for the pastas, they were a letdown. The portions were small, and the texture was off— our table described them as “gummy,” likely from being overcooked. With appetizers, pastas, and two cocktails coming to over , it just didn’t feel worth the splurge. Lovely ambiance and attentive service, but the food left me wanting more.
